A big misconception about guitar tones is that they have to be super fat. The fatter a tone is, the more it fights with other instruments in a mix. So there is a give and take. Both presets are design...

Hi everyone :)). I just started playing guitar and i really love pierce the veil tones. Is there anyone can guide me on creating such beautiful tones/preset for guitar rig 5/6 will be much appreciated :) THANKSSSS

Created by professional synthesist, sound designer and composer Drew Schlesinger, the Modern Producer Preset Bank is a collection of 50 presets for the ILLUMINE Reverb. The presets were designed to be used in all types of modern music recording, mixing and production.

A wide array of electronic and acoustic sounds were used during creation of the presets, including vocals, brass, synthesizers, keyboards, drums, drum machines and guitar. Many were designed to recreate realistic spaces, and as such, employ little or no modulation. Some presets do employ modulation and pitch shifting to create the lush reverbs for which Neunaber is known. In some cases, this approach was taken to the extreme to create new, weird and creative effects.

I'll pick up a different guitar, select the appropriate sense preset for that guitar and the stomp gains/volumes are SO different. I never had a problem like this with my amps and regular stomp boxes.

Didn't hear whether you use a midi controller or not but assuming you do maybe look into using browse mode, doesn't sound like you need to use performance mode at all. I use 2 guitars both with coil taps and have set up 4 different preset banks one for each guitar/pup combo. I use the same amps & fx on reach row the only difference is I've tweaked the eq, gain, volume, clean sense, etc to get each guitar sounding it's best to my ears and without volume dips. I had to or go insane! So bank 1 would be guitar 1 SC with 5 different amps/fx combinations, bank 2 is guitar 1 HB and so on. Yours might be even simpler, I just use a lot of different amps and stuff throughout the night. Hope this helps.

I also think it is not mandatory or necessary to have presets for every guitar.
It is maybe the best idea to have a single setting that fits to most situations, e.g. Clean Sens at 0 dB.
One you have fixed the situation, the volume differences between different guitars would appear the same way as if you had an analog rig.

I never touch the cleanor distrotion sense live, it's not midi controllable and would just slow down the show. I set them so that my loudest guitar doesn't clip and do all my adjustments from that point for each bank. I do agree that rigs for every guitar is a bit overboard for most situations. At one point I used one set of rigs for everything and just kept a clean boost as an open option in Slot X for single coils. Wonder if that's when I stopped sleeping as well at night.....

You should have the Guitar Rig bank of presets...if so, find the "50s - 70s Rock" category (hopefully, you should have this). Number 43 in the bank is called "Gilmour Tone". I use this preset and only change this:

(Cygnus v16) "I tested every preset on three guitars this time around: 1) Anderson HSS, 2) American Deluxe Strat SSS 3) Kiesel Vader long scale HH (BareKnuckle). Multiple beta testers also went through the set, and Cliff reviewed Bank A." [3]

The Axe-Fx III, FM9 and FM3 have 384 factory presets, divided over 3 banks: A, B, and C. The factory presets use Input 1 (instrument) and Output 1 with amplifier and speaker cabinet modeling and are configured for stereo output. You can use an expression pedal in presets which use External Controller 1. See your modeler's manual for information how to configure this.

010 - DIATONIC TRIADS
A scene controller (attached to the Key parameter in the Pitch block, placed between the amplifier and cab) creates different pitch harmonies per scene. Play single notes. Note that the cab (2x10 Lexical) lends itself well for dual-tracked guitar parts (think Queen and The Eagles). Amp: FAS Lead. More explanation about the harmonies in this preset

013 - ENUMERING RAVENS
Stereo delay, trailing off to the left (Feedback Left is set higher than Feedback Right). The preset is based on the guitar sound on Counting Crows' "August and Everything After" album. [5] Amp: Matchbox Chiefman.

026 - LONELY HEART SOLO
A lead guitar sound, based on the pitch-shifted Yes song "Owner of a Lonely Heart". Other scenes change the pitch to octaves (8va) or a combination. Pitch is placed between amp and cab. Play single notes. Amp: FAS Lead. More explanation about the harmonies in this preset

103 - BOSTONIAN BOSTONIAN FM9 BEAN TOWN FM3
Characteristic mid-heavy guitar sound from Boston. The Axe-Fx preset used a Tone Match block and two amp Brit 800 models, the FM9 and FM3 presets use a single amp with EQ. Here's a demo

018 - BAD
The Edge's trademark guitar sound, as heard in "Bad" and many other U2 songs, using modulated 1/8 dotted delay(s), a Vox and SDD preamp. Use External Controller 1 to fade in the shimmer sound. The Axe-Fx and FM9 presets use dual amps: Class-A 30W and Deluxe Tweed. FM3: single amp. Preset by Edosounds.

078 - BARRACUDA BARRACUDA FM9
Produces the flanged guitar sound of "Barracuda" by Heart, through two amps (FM3: one). Use a Control Switch to change delay and pitch. Amps: Hipower and Plexi 50W. Previously named: BROKEN HEART. "The momentary delay is for the weird syncopation of the outro. This preset was created for a touring classic rock company and it works great." [6]

107 - JEFF GETS READY JEFF GETS READY FM9
Based on the chorused clean and driven guitar sounds in "People Get Ready" by Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck. Amp: 59 Bassguy. Axe-Fx preset has a Tone Match block in the clean scene.

126 - OUT1:FOH OUTx:CAB
This preset shows how to send a signal with cab modeling to Front-Of-House (Out 1), and a second signal without cab modeling to a separate output to feed a power amplifier with a traditional guitar cabinet.

Internally, fluidsynth places all soundfonts on a stack. Because palm-muted-guitar.sf2 is the last one loaded, it is top most on the stack. When e.g. a program change event occurs on a channel, fluidsynth looks through the soundfont stack from top to bottom, searching for a soundfont that provides the requested bank/preset combination. palm-muted-guitar.sf2 is the first one to provide a percussion instrument on bank 128, preset 0, thus it is selected.
