When Will I?
Imaam Aboo Bakr al-Aajuree ( رحمه الله رحمة واسعة , May Allaah have mercy upon him, died 360AH) said:
A person when reading the Quraan his concern should not be, when will I complete this Soorah?
His concern should be:
When will I be enriched by Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى , Glorified and Exalted be He ] so I am only in need of Him and no one else?
When will I be of the Pious ones?
When I will be of those who have true reliance upon Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] ?
When will I become of those who have awe and humility of Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] ?
When will I become of the patient ones?
When will I become of the truthful ones?
When will I become of those who truly fear Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] ?
When will I become from those who hope in Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] ?
When will I become from those who abstain from the world?
When will I have desire for the Hereafter?
When will I make a true repentance from sins?
When will I recognise the numerous blessings?
When will I be grateful for them?
When will I realise what Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] is addressing me with?
When will I reflect upon what I am reciting?
When will I control my soul over its wants?
When will I strive a true striving for Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] ?
When will I safeguard my tongue?
When will I lower my gaze?
When will I protect my private parts (from illegal relations)?
When will I be shy from Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] with a true shyness?
When will I busy myself with my own faults?
When will I rectify my affairs which have become corrupted?
When will I take account of myself?
When will I prepare provisions (good deeds) for the day of my return (to Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ])?
When will I be pleased with Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] ?
When will I take heed from the warnings of the Quraan?
When will I love what Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] loves?
When will I hate what Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] hates?
When will I busy myself with the remembrance of Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] than being busy with the remembrance of others?
When will I do actions sincerely for Allaah [ سبحانه و تعالى ] ?
When will I reduce my false hopes?
When will I prepare for my death when my lifespan will come to an end?
When will I build for my life in the grave?
When will I reflect and ponder over the Day of Standing and its hardships?
When will I take heed in what my Lord has warned me regarding the Fire and its severe heat?
