صِفَةُ صَلاةِ النَّبِيِّ Sifatu Salaatin an-Nabee [ صلى الله عليه و سلم , sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam]
The Prophet's [ صلى الله عليه و سلم Prayer Described
- min at-takbeer ilaa at-tasleem ka'annaka taraahaa - from the beginning to the end as though you see it.
by Shaykh Muhammad Nassiruddeen al-Albaanee ( رحمه الله , rahimahullaah, may Allaah have mercy on him, died 1420AH)

The Messenger of Allaah [ صلى الله عليه و سلم , may Allaah exalt his mention and render him and his message safe from every derogatory thing ] said "Pray as you have seen me praying ..."
[Collected by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.]

"Part 32 - Recitation In The Zuhr Prayer - Recitation Of Aayaat After Al-Faatihah In The Last Two Rak'ahs
He [ صلى الله عليه و سلم used to make the last two rak'ahs about half as long as the first two, about fifteen aayaat
[Recorded by Ahmad and Muslim. The hadeeth contains evidence that reciting more than al-Faatihah in the last two rak`ahs is a sunnah, and many Companions did so, among them Abu Bakr Siddeeq [ رضى الله تعالى عنه  ,  may Allah be pleased with him ]. It is also the view of Imaam ash-Shaafi'ee, whether in Zuhr or others, and of our later scholars, Abul Hasanaat al-Luknaawee took it in Notes on Muhammad's al-Muwatta' (p. 102) and said:
"Some of our companions take hold a very strange view in obligating a sajdah sahw (prostration for forgetfulness) for the recitation of a Soorah in the last two rak`ahs, but the commentators on al-Maniyyah, Ibraaheem al-Halabi, Ibn Ameer Haajj and others, have refuted this view extremely well. There is no doubt that those who said this were unaware of the hadeeth, and had it reached them they would not have said so."],

and sometimes he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would recite only al-Faatihah in them."
[Recorded by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.]

Sometimes "he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would let them hear an aayah or so."
[Recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah in his saheeh (1/67/2) and Diyaa' al-Maqdisee in al-Mukhtaarah with a saheeh isnaad.]

"They would hear the humming of his [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] recitation of:
"Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, ...",
[The Qur'an, Soorah al-A'laa 087, Verses 001 - 019]

and:

"Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)? ...",
[The Qur'an Soorah al-Ghaashiyah 88, Verses 001 - 026]."
[Recorded by al-Bukhaaree in Juz al-Qira'ah and at-Tirmidhee, who declared it saheeh.]

Sometimes "he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would recite:
"By the heaven, and At-Târiq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); ...",
(Soorah at-Taariq, 86: 1 - 17),

"By the heaven holding the big stars. ...",
(Soorah al-Burooj, 85: 1 - 22), and similar soorahs."
[Recorded by Muslim and Tayalsee.]

Sometimes "he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would recite:
"By the night as it envelops. ...",
(Soorah al-Layl 92: 1 - 21) and similar soorahs."
[Recorded by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.] "

"Part 34 - Recitation In The Maghrib Prayer

"He [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] used to (sometimes) recite the short mufassal soorahs"
[Recorded by Bukhaaree and Muslim],

so that "when they had finished praying with him [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ], they could go away and (it was possible to) shoot an arrow and see where it landed."
[Recorded by an-Nasaa'ee and Ahmad with a saheeh isnaad.]

Once, "while on a journey, he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] recited:
“By the Fig and the Olive …”, (Soorah at-Teen 95, Verses 1 - 8) in the second rak'ah."
[Recorded by Tayaalisee and Ahmad with a saheeh isnaad.]

But sometimes he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would recite the long or medium mufassal soorahs, hence "he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would recite: “Those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh, and in the Message of Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]), and hinder (men) from the path of Allâh (Islâmic Monotheism), …”, (Soorah Muhammad 47, Verses 1 - 38);"
[Recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah (1/166/2), at-Tabaraanee and Maqdisee with a saheeh isnaad.]

or Soorah at-Toor (52, Verse 1 - 49); [Recorded by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.]

or Soorah al-Mursalaat (77, verses 1 - 50), which he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] recited in the last prayer he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] prayed. [Recorded by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.]

Sometimes "he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would recite the longer of the two long soorahs [called "at-toolayayn": Soorah al-A`raaf (7) is agreed to be one; Soorah al-An`aam (6) is the other, according to the most correct saying, as in Fat'hul-Baaree.] (A'raaf 7:206) [in two rak'ahs]." [Recorded by al-Bukhaaree, Abu Daawood, Ibn Khuzaymah (1/68/1), Ahmad, Siraaj and Mukhlis.]

Or he [ صلى الله عليه و سلم ] would recite al-Anfaal (8, Verses 1 - 75) in two rak'ahs.
[Recorded by at-Tabaraanee in Mu`jam al-Kabeer with a saheeh isnaad.] "
