Maybe this post is a bit outdated, but still can be useful whose wants to bring back an old Nokia phone to life.My story is very simple and usual. I've forgotten my security code of an old Nokia 6120c. The key problem was that I locked my phone, and could not turn it on. It always asked for the security code, and after 5 tries locked for 5 minutes, thus brute force would have been a bit time-consuming. Oh! Why I wanted to use such an old phone? I had to carry my iPhone to the service and was thinking about going back in time and using one of my really old phone during I'm waiting to get my iPhone back, so I chose my old Nokia 6120c.
I still run a Nokia 6120c phone. It has only been 12 going on 13 years since they were released. Some people probably have been through 15 phones since these things, however, mine is still working, and will continue to use it until 2022 when 3G disappears throughout Aus.
The original Nokia OVI suite software is all but dust; Nokia's 'update' server with the Nokia6120c / S60 / Rm243 firmware is now all long gone disappearing into the sunset of the ether. Software has gone stale and things no longer work. Heck, I had to fire up XP to run my v1.3 Nokia OVI install.
I contacted Nokia HQ regarding their software update service, and they even said "sorry, we don't support that phone anymore".
