This is where you can discuss the Mahjong Time rating system, ask
questions about your rating, or offer suggestions for changes to the
rating system.

The rating system is fine - for strong players.
There is a "minimum Table Level", that strong players can use to keep
weak players off the table
But unfortunately, there is no "maximum Table Level" to keep strong
players away. The possibility to seat all players is not much more
than a workaround.

So PLEASE strong players - patricipate in games with equal opponents.
Tonight someone with ranking >50 joined a table that was called
"beginner's",
That's not fair - it's not funny for the other three to loose every
game and besides have the ranking ruined.

I agree! I once thought about this, then forgot, but you had the same
conclusion.

Perhaps it isn't fair, but it certainly isn't wise. For a high ranked
player playing white belts it usually means ending up with a lower
rating, even when the score at the table is positive.
Also, a white belt doesn't automatically means that the player isn't
strong. Quite a number of players are not full members and their
rating is put to zero at the beginning of the month. Sitting at a
table with these players can cost a lot and it is a hell of a job to
get those points back
Therefore I am grateful that the rating is turned off when playing
tournaments.
