Using HDF5 in IDL
Please join us for this live web seminar to see examples of how to use
IDL to access HDF5 files. HDF5 is a data model, library, and file
format for storing and managing data which is used widely in many
scientific disciplines including computational physics, atmospheric
and oceanic sciences, neutron science, and remote sensing. IDL has an
extensive set of powerful, and easy to use tools for accessing,
reading, writing, and appending HDF5 data. This web seminar will
cover:
Creating objects in an HDF5 file
Accessing datasets and groups with POSIX-like syntax
Attaching attributes to objects
Storing/retrieving images with palettes
Extracting slices of data from a dataset
This webinar is available to the public. No previous experience with
IDL or HDF5 is necessary. Preregistration is required.
