Namo Buddhaya!
Esala Poya is of great significance to the Buddhists as Supreme Buddha's preaching of his First Sermon, Dhammachakkappavattana Sutta, to the five ascetics took place on a day, like this.
Also the annual rains retreat of the monks, 'Vas' commences on the day following the Esala full moon.
Sri Lankan Buddhists in Melbourne have been very lucky to have the Monks at Mahamevnawa as the pure Dhamma can be constantly heard and have the opportunity to earn merit through practising Dana, Sila & Bhavana.
The next Dhamma Talk organised by Mahamevnawa will be held on Sunday the 10th of July from 5.00pm to 7.00pm at the below venue.
