Buddhism has become the fastest growing religion in the world today and is destined to be the vibrant living religion of the future.
Supreme Buddha stressed that the way to pay homage to him was by truly and sincerely striving to follow his teachings. This is how devotees are expected to celebrate Vesak: to use the opportunity to reiterate their determination to lead noble lives, to develop your minds, to practise loving-kindness and to bring peace and harmony to humanity.
Buddha has emphasised that if you develop at least a bit of shraddha(trust and confidence on Buddha) it will go a long way and will be valued more highly than receiving the kingship of the earth.
If Shraddha starts to develop as we learn more and examine ourselves and the world in accordance with Dhamma, we are in the correct Path. We get to this state when we realize the true characteristics of Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha.
To mark this historical event “2600th Sri Samuddhathva Jayanthiya” Mahmaevnawa has organised Dhamma programs as below.
(Please see the attached flyers for more details.)
Hope you all will participate in these events and utilize this golden opportunity to develop your Shraddha, Seela , Sutha, Chaga and Panna.
