Found review here:
http://www.indianexpress.com/oldStory/47702/

Sounds mighty interesting. Confession, I started Ashok Banker's
'Prince of Ayodhya' series, but lost interest after first 3 books.

By the way, AS -- what's the link to Kishori Mohan's online version ?
Different from the links we already have posted on this group ?

Maybe its time to compile all the online links into a single
post......

Hi Pia,

Kisari Mohan Ganguli's online version: http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/maha/index.htm
. It was posted before. I think one of the problems with an email
group is older emails tend to get lost; there is no way to keep it
"pinned" to the top of the board!

Cheers...

By the way, I have to wholeheartedly endorse Ramesh Menon's version as
well. What the Indian Express reviewer says is quite true: this
version is quite detailed, but also has a beauty of language. It
doesn't approach art, but it does satisfy that quality of prose that
we want from Indian authors writing in English! On the other hand, I
do remember that Kamala Subramaniam's version had older-style English;
it was less interesting to read.

By the way, "Manticore" is far from a dead word...

Strike my earlier comment about there being no way to pin messages;
google has a way! I've pinned the "all are welcome" post to the top.

There's also a feature called "pages". I've just created and
published a page with a list of Mahabharata sources. Could Pia or
Anindya add the Bengali references we talked about. Also, I'm not
familiar with the R. K. Narayan or Krishna Dharma versions. If anyone
is, please edit the page or email a short description to me; I'll put
it up there.

There's a "Pages" link on the right side of the forum. If you click
that, it should show up!
