limit of repair expense by the committee

Dear Respected Members,

Need help in understanding the maximum one time repair expenses that can be done the committee without approval of GB. Is it one lakh or three lakh.

If it is three lakh, should the society approve new bye laws or can it be approved even without approving the new bye laws.

Under the Model Bye-Laws, the Managing Committee can incur one time expenditure on repairs and maintenance without approval of General Body: 

Number of Society Members	Maximum One-Time Expenditure
Up to 25 members	₹25,000
26 to 50 members	₹50,000
51 members and above	₹1,00,000

Many of the societies pass a resolution in the AGM or SGM authorizing the Committee to incur expenditure up to a specified amount. In such cases, the Committee may spend within the authority granted by the General Body, even if the amount is higher than the standard repair limits.
