The end of Season 1 revealed that Emily's mom was alive, and her return became one of Season 2's most hyped plot points. The news that Jennifer Jason Leigh had been cast as the mental matriarch only added to anticipation. And then ... nothing happened. Oh, sure, she went off her meds for a while and caused a little mayhem, but it was all but forgotten by the next episode. Not to mention the fact that Leigh always seemed a little off, and not in the fun crazy way. Perhaps it was bad direction or the fact that she wasn't given much to work with, but no one missed Kara when she left the Hamptons.
One of the great things about Revenge was its unique protagonist: We rooted for Emily, but we never really felt for her. She was a single-minded revenge machine, and there was something genuinely cool about a character motivated not by love or power but by vengeance. And yet, Season 2 has seen Emily cry. A lot. She crumpled in Aidan's arms, she missed her mom, and worst of all, she doubted her revenge plot. While it may not be as easy to like Season 1's cold and calculating heroine, she was at least more challenging than the watered-down version we've gotten in Season 2.
Daniel was of course supposed to die halfway through the first season, but Revenge realized they had a star (and a total hunk) on their hands. Keeping Daniel around was fine, especially as he learned more about his family's lies and took a more active role in Grayson Global. So why saddle him and Emily with this pointless on-again off-again romance? We know she's only in it for the revenge, which just makes the whole thing feel extra tedious. They look good together, but that's about it. Going to have to agree with Victoria on this one: Break it off for good.
The only thing more infuriating than the amount of time Revenge spent on Padma is how haphazardly it got rid of her. An offscreen death is one of TV's worst fates, and it's a particularly weak finish when we're devoting a fair amount of time to looking for the deceased. At least on The Walking Dead, which pulled the same crap with Sophia, we got to see her one last time as a zombie. But Revenge gave us the briefest glimpse of Padma's corpse, as if to say, "Our bad. She's gone now." In that case, can you return the time I spent watching her pointless saga unfold?
Amanda got revenge against a lot of people who are still living and probably very angry. Would we have seen any of them resurface in a fifth season to get their own revenge? Someone like Mason Treadwell?

The first season is an original story written and animated by Rainimator chronicling the battle against Herobrine's conquest on the Overworld undertaken by the Frostbourne and the Ender Watchers. The first four episodes follow Rain, Fractures' main protagonist.
The season has five episodes. It features songs from Blacklite District's third and fourth albums. Although Fractures was intended to be a four-episode arc, its popularity ultimately resulted in it becoming a series. Demons and Goodbye were to be a prologue and epilogue, but were respectively abandoned and added. Maps and assets were sourced from Planet Minecraft and Hypixel Warlords.
The season was positively received by audiences and animators such as Black Plasma Studios and inspired Reign of Terror, a graphic novel adaptation by Eddie Robson. As of 2022, the season has collectively garnered 230M views and its episodes are the top-viewed videos on the channel.
Reign of Terror was a graphic novel adapting Herobrine's Revenge in entirety, and a collaboration between Rainimator and comic book writer Eddie Robson, taking screenshots from the videos. It was released on May 16, 2019, with a sequel slated in 2021.
An official compilation of all five episodes of Herobrine's Revenge, with additional scenes at beginning and end, was released on January 4, 2021 on the @Rainimator YouTube Channel, garnering 30K views within two days. The prologue, instead of Demons, was of Herobrine staking his claim on the realm in the Frostbourne Tundra, while the epilogue was of a Pigman finding Herobrine's head while scouting.
The next day, in Glacierford, a single bite spurs a deadly epidemic amongst the villagers, prompting Herobrine and his Undead army to crawl from their caves and take the village in their conquest. However, Rain and Abigail Crysteffor lead a group of survivors further into the tundra to escape the carnage, only for the group to fall as the zombies infect or kill them all.
In Cold as Ice, Ser Patrick and Daryll kill off the zombies at the Glacierford Tundra, only sparing Rain to test Azura's Machine. They ride back and cure Rain. Lady Azura and Ser Theo are watching the curing process alongside Ser Patrick and Daryll. Sometime after, Rain begins training, the reason unknown. The Ender Dragon spews fire at a village, and Endermen teleport to the battlegrounds, beginning the combat. Rain tosses an ender pearl through a portal the dragon opened. He then tames the dragon with an eye of ender. Rain flies back through the portal. The troops seeing this, an allegiance is made. Rain flies over Glacierford, hinting at an attack.
In We Are the Danger, the Undead prepares for battle at Glacierford. The Frostbourne Footsoldiers charge in, easily taking Glacierford due to the element of surprise. Herobrine and Blackbone enter the Nether and make an alliance with the Nether Horde. Sometime later, Nether Portals spill out Nether Horde troops onto Frostbourne-reinforced Glacierford. They easily capture it due to the sheer number of troops, killing or forcing to retreat nearly all of the troops stationed at Glacierford.
In Just So You Know, Rain goes to Lady Azura and tells her of his sorrows of when Abigail attempted to kill him. Azura lets him stay and recoup. Rain reminiscences and decides to take revenge on Glutton. He grabs a Beacon Gun and rampages at the Nether Fort, killing dozens of Nether Horde troops. Rain drops down behind Glutton, and engages him, killing him via decapitation. Abigail approaches the area and angered by the slaughter, charges Rain. Weakened from Glutton, he kills her whilst receiving the Wither Heart Curse.
Heading into this season, many pundits felt that this would be a rare season where Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks would take a step back, ever so slightly, in their on-court performance. One and a half weeks in, and the verdict has come back: they might actually be better than they were last year. Compiling three-straight 100-point performances while holding your opponents to an average of 62.3 points per game will have that effect.
One player who's played a key role behind this hot start is point guard Raven Johnson who, in her first season as a full-time starter, is shooing over 40 percent from the field, turned the ball over just five times in 83 total minutes, and is coming off a career performance against Clemson where she dished out 17 assists, the most by an SEC player since 2005.
After a dominating win over the Tigers, Johnson joined MiLaysia Fulwiley for a postgame presser with the media, and was asked at one point what it's like to see her intentions or goals for this season come to fruition. Raven didn't hold back with her response.
"Going off from last season, [and] the Final Four game, the whole season every I feel like everybody was riding our coattails just hyping us up, but as soon as we lost, we got all these hate comments. I got bashed from a viral video that went so viral and people don't know behind the scenes how I felt and what what I went through. So, I think that put fuel to the fire and I said this was this revenge season and I got something for everybody. Every team that comes up. So I think that was the best thing that ever happened to me and I think God does things for a reason and so maybe I needed that, but I say this team, we're coming for a lot. So it's definitely revenge season."
