Dear Friend,
We hope the month of September has given you much peace and happiness.
September has been a joyful month for us here in Magnolia Village: the
cool weather, gentle winds, brothers and sisters working together as a
family to finish the new building, outings to Sardis Lake..... On
September 28, 2010 the Monastics had sitting meditation for the first
time in the new building's meditation hall. The energy of the
community was so powerful and the presence of the Buddha brought much
peace. Few ceremonies were taken place on that day to welcome the
Buddha statue into the new building and in the afternoon we had a
special ceremony for the hungry ghosts, praying that they will have
much peace and happiness. The Monastics then had a special dinner
together in the new building. It was an occasion for all of us to
enjoy each other presence in this new house, without having to hold a
hammer, paintbrush, ..... like we have done during these last few
months :).
We are happy to share with you that the new building is almost
finished. Therefore, we welcome you to visit us, have a tour inside
the new building on this upcoming Day of Mindfulness, October 3rd,
2010. Below is the schedule for the day. Please email us or call us if
you plan to come.
9:00- Walking meditation
10:00- DVD Dharma talk given by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh
11:30- Recitation of the Five Mindfulness Trainings
12:30- Formal lunch
Afternoon activity will be announced.
May your heart be peaceful and happy. We look forward to seeing you on
Sunday.
