HOW TO FIX ERROR CODE 31(Laptop/Notebook only)

Note: There are two possible ways to fix error code 31

FIX#1: Try another PCMCIA socket (from top to bottom or vice versa).


NOTE1: If you have two PCMCIA sockets in your laptop all you have to
do is switch socket and that should take care of the problem. If that
doesn't fix the problem you have the option to use the

NOTE2 : If there is only one PCMCIA socket use CBregedit settings.


FIX# 2: CBregedit.exe. Adjust or change bus numbers using
CBregedit.exe.


NOTE1: If you are running any Antivirus software in your computer you
must disable that in order for the Cbregedit settings to take effect.


NOTE2: When performing this task make sure that the Magma Driver is
loaded and follow the path directed in the instruction below.


NOTE3: Ensure that the Magma Expansion chassis is turned-on and the
Magma Cardbus card is inserted properly.


STEPS:
1. Go to your C:Program Files\Magma\Cbregedit.exe
2. Launch Cbregedit.exe
3. Check “SetBusNo”
4. Type in the following values:

OurSecNo: 65
OurSubNo: 81
OtheSecNo: 129
OtherSubNo: 145


or



OurSecNo: 45
OurSubNo: 55
OtheSecNo: 65
OtherSubNo: 75



or



OurSecNo = 33
OurSubNo = 44
OtheSecNo = 55
OtherSubNo = 66



5. Save
6. Restart.

7. if this fails to fix the problem, do the next following steps

8. Go to your C:Program Files\Magma\Cbregedit.exe
9. Launch Cbregedit.exe
10. UnCheck “SetBusNo”

11. Check ClrBusNO

12. Save and restart laptop



If you are still having problem, install the other version of Magma
Driver, which is the mobility driver.

Before installing this Mobility you must remove or uninstall the
previous Magma driver.
