Configurable Products + Lining

Hello -

First, thanks for this project. I've just began an integration project
between Checkout POS and Magento. I'll be using this project for
inventory / product sync.

I'd also like to become a commiter, if that's possible.

I'm looking to implement the ability to link products that are
configurable with various attributes. I know i'll have to extend the
Magento API to handle this, however, I wanted to see if anyone has
experience with this and could provide their thoughts.
