Cannot run magit: Eager macro-expansion failure: (wrong-type-argument listp 128)

Hello,

I'm using Emacs (snapshot) version 24.3.50.1 on Ubuntu 12.10. I have tried to install magit using the Melpa (after having the following code snippet in my .emacs):

(when (>= emacs-major-version 24)
  (require 'package)
  (package-initialize)
  (add-to-list 'package-archives
               '("melpa" . "http://melpa.milkbox.net/packages/") t))

Now when I do M-x magit-status I receive the following error message:

 Eager macro-expansion failure: (wrong-type-argument listp 128)
 if: Wrong type argument: listp, 128

Any ideas or tips to solve this issue?

Moreover, during the installation of magit (via package manager) I have also received the following errors / warnings in the *Compile-Log* buffer:

I don't remember what the problem actually was but this should not happen anymore. Otherwise please open an issue at https://github.com/magit/magit/issues.
