The Montana State Library & Governor's Office are seeking two professionals interested in serving on the Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council. Role of the Council The Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council (MGIAC) advises the State Librarian and State Library Commission on geospatial information priorities, data development, and the administration of the Montana Geospatial Information Act grant program. The Council evaluates and prioritizes requests from state, local, and tribal entities for GIS and geospatial information services. It promotes coordination across programs and agencies to reduce duplication, improve data sharing, and strengthen statewide land information efforts. Finally, the Council advocates for consistent policies, standards, and guidelines to support the effective management and use of geospatial information in Montana. Term & Expectations
