MAGIP community,

The Montana Cadastral GIS Framework data have been updated for May. View a map of the counties updated this month.

Users can view the state’s cadastral map and parcel descriptions online using the Montana Cadastral map application (http://gis.mt.gov).  Map services are available via their REST [gisservicemt.gov] endpoint addresses.

Additionally, GIS practitioners can download the metadata and the data (by county or statewide) from the Cadastral web pagehttp://msl.mt.gov/GIS/Cadastral

The Montana Cadastral Framework database is usually updated and published at the beginning of each month. The database stores information about public and private land ownership for Montana. The parcel geometry data is maintained by the Montana Department of Revenue (DOR) or in cases of Ravalli, Silver Bow, Missoula, Flathead, and Yellowstone counties the data is maintained by the individual counties. Once a month, the Montana State Library integrates the parcel data from each county into a statewide database and then joins it to the DOR’s Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) data—a database that records property ownership, property value, and other information about each parcel of land in the state.

The Montana Public Lands and Conservation Easements data have also been updated for May.
