Montana Geospatial Information Act Grant Program: Applications due in 7 days!
Time is running out to apply for the FY2027 MGIA grant cycle! Grant application materials are available for download on the MGIA Grant Information page, and completed applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on February 25, 2026.
The MGIA Council will evaluate submissions and recommend awards to the Montana State Library Commission by May 1, 2026, with final funding decisions made by May 15, 2026.
As a reminder, MGIA grants will be awarded every two years, allowing for extended project performance over a two‑year period. The total available funding for this cycle is $500,000.
Applicants are encouraged to review the Montana Geospatial Information Plan (FY26–28), which outlines the state’s geospatial priorities and provides essential context for developing competitive proposals.
For questions about the application, please email the MSL team at mgiag...@mt.gov.
If you missed our grant webinar last month, a recording is available at the MGIA Grant Information webpage.
This webinar is highly recommended for those eligible to submit an MGIA grant proposal, project partners, or firms working with potential grantees.
