How does the CSV file have to be laid out for it to recognise years in timeline? I have a dataset consisting of 28 countries in Europe, with figures (in four columns) from four different points in time. These are quarterly unemployment figures, but I can get around this by changing Dec '12/ Mar 13' etc into years (2010/2011 etc - to simplify Magic Maps understanding).
I have countries running down the far left column.
I have years (2010-2013) running along the top row.
All the data is running down each column under 'year', associated with each country on the far left column.
Every time I import the CSV, I select one line of data (from above timeline) and then move it to a desired position on timeline.
Then I select the next line of data (above timeline) and then move it to desired place on timeline.
But once I move the second line of data on timeline, it also moves the first line... so no moving timeline is created.
Can't figure it out!
I had to upload each of the four sets of data individually because otherwise Magic Maps reads the first two sets individually, but adds the last two columns of data together - to create only 3 sets of data, the third comprising of third and fourth combined.
Please could this be explained in the least technical way possible!
I want to create a running timeline to export as a movie.
