Hi,

I see that the MF plugin looks very similar to Flutters, and I know
you were part of the Flutter development team.
What are the difference between the MF to Flutters? Is there a good
reason to migrate from Flutter?

Thanks,
M.

Hi MaorB.

yes, visually the both plugins works in very similiar way, Magic
Fields not have some options like "template options" or
"modules" (we think that these part was not necessary and was not
working completely well) we has employed very much time at the part of
the back-end for clean the code (there had much code to not was used)
and to improve the yield of the functions, was rewrote much code of
javascript, etc.

In the version 1.1 we improve the performance in the functions in the
fron-end (2 query for function) Before between 6 and 7. and we added a
pair of functions, more details in the changelog of this version
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/magic-fields/changelog/

For the version 1.2 (next release) will be add new functions: a
function that us returns all the information of all fields inside a
group, a function that returns all the repeated fields. A function
that us returns the label of the field. and the functions of the front-
end were optimized only does 1 query by function, besides some fix and
add new functionalities. You can follow all the changes (after 26 of
sep). http://github.com/hunk/Magic-Fields/network

in 1.1 version and 1.0 the subject was to improve the yield and to
repair bugs. from now on we will work in new functionalities, the
users have contributed with many good ideas and we are working to
incorporate them.

maybe do not notice a drastic change (visually) in MF, but we have
worked very much in order that internally it has a better functioning.

:)

I've started using Flutter for a clients site and now that I can't
find any useful documentation without searching for an hour to find
something, I now want to try Magic Fields. Has the development for
Flutter stopped or are they just super slow to get out updates to
people? You guys seem pretty determined to bring everyone this killer
plugin.
