Dear Sir,
Following from our conversation yesterday do find below the profile of a Lecturer in English at CMR. It would include:

  • delivering lectures to undergraduate students of the BCom and BBM / Communicative English courses (General English and Communicative English )
  • participating in seminars, colloquia and tutorials conducted by the department
  • developing, executing and refining relevant and new methods of teaching to reflect changes in research
  • designing, preparing and developing teaching materials in keeping with student needs
  • invigilating, setting and marking examinations
  • mentoring students via an advisory role
  • undertaking personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution's research profile
  • writing up research papers and preparing them for publication regularly
  • providing scope for students' research activities
  • participating in staff training activities
  • carrying out administrative tasks related to the department including documentation of the department's activities
  • involvement in committees
  • representing the institution at professional conferences and seminars, and contributing to them
  • establishing collaborative links with industrial, commercial and public organisations
We are looking for a post graduate in English with a strong command of the English language, creative teaching methods and some experience in teaching mixed ability classrooms at the collegiate level. We have 3 vacancies at present all of which are full time postings. A research degree either completed or in progress would be an added advantage to us.
Warmly,
Dr. Amitha Santiago
