6 weeks away: 2025 Lawrence Electric Vehicle Showcase

Hello MAEAA folks:
The popular Lawrence EV Showcase is just six weeks away.  Join up and help us reach 75 EVs on display.  Last year we had 50 EVs.  To date, only 20 are signed up this year.  It will be from 11:00am to 3:00pm on Sunday, 12 October in South Park, Lawrence KS.

We have a growing list of sponsors — booths by three EV auto dealers, three E-bicycle dealers, 2 solar installers, KU Electrical Engineering, MindDrive EV conversions, and Lawrence Transit.  Panasonic is on the verge of joining — fingers crossed.  There also will be three food trucks and kids' pop-up entertainment by City PlayCorps.

We hope you will once again be part of this seventh annual Lawrence Electric Vehicle Showcase.

The Lawrence EV show is October 12, the same day as our regularly scheduled monthly meeting.  Any interest of having this meeting “on the road” and going to Lawrence to meet?

Jim's idea of holding the October MAEAA meeting at the Lawrence EV show sounds good to us at !  A meeting at a meet up !

Here's another thought.  We will provide MAEAA with free booth space, so you could set up a canopy and have a couple EVs in front.  

Of course, everyone who wants to can bring your EV to be in the show.  If you plan to, please visit our web page where you can sign up - Lawrence Electric Vehicle Showcase 2025 | National Drive Electric Month.  When there, just click the "sign up" button, and then click the "register" button.  This will give an accurate and official count of attendees.

Hey all

Once again, inlaw activities take priority over Jim having fun at an EV meeting.  I will not be able to attend the September 14 meeting.  Room 13 of the JOCO Library is reserved in our name.

The only agenda item I had would be a discussion of relocating our October meeting so that we can be at the Lawrence EV show.  A copy of the discussion thread follows.  

I know that I would like to be at the Lawrence show.  Can I get an electronic show of hands of how many people and of how many cars may be able to attend?

Apologies for getting this out late, wasn't sure I'd be in town today. I'll be at the library today and will run a Zoom call from there; again, since this is just my free personal account, it'll kick us off every 40 minutes or so and we'll have to reconnect.
