July 3 Independence Day

Hey fellow EV’ers

Some of you may know that my wife and I have a special celebration for our Independence Day on July 3.  Let me emphasize, it is on July 3 (not the 4th).  We do that because that’s when our city does its’ municipal fireworks display in the football field with the best view of the display being 90 feet from our house.

Years ago I expanded our celebration to include live music from 7 to 9 pm.  This year we are hosting Kansas City Blues and Jason Vivone and the Billy Bats.  The city fireworks show is roughly at 945pm.  The rain date is July 5 (yes, the 5th).

Please accept our invitation to join us for what we call “Desert with the Donovan’s”, a potluck desert festival in our back yard with the music.  You should bring a chair and your drinks for yourself and a desert to share.

PS - please note that one reason for showing up for the fireworks hours early is that you get better parking.  The city eliminates parking on one side of the street the day before and it can get tight the closer to the display you show up.

Due to the expected weather the cities have rescheduled the fireworks show for Friday July 5.  Our party and all plans will move to the same time/activity on Friday also.  Contact me off-line if you are interested in joining us.
