The future of Merriam, KS

Greetings friends! 

You may have heard I'm running from mayor in the city of Merriam, Kansas.

I've had a Ford Fusion Energi plug in hybrid for some years and really enjoy it.  It's the reason I got involved with this group! 

Driving a PHEV is convenient and reduces my need to stop during the day for gas. 

In Merriam we have TWELVE Chargepoint j1772 EVSEs available to the general public to use without any charge per hour or kilowatt. 

We have an additional station at a community center for handicapped EV users.  We were one of the first in the state to do that!

I am excited at the future that lay before us as more and more people choose to drive electric, I was proud to set up this email list years ago to help us communicate and collaborate toward that goal. 

I'm writing today to ask what you would like to see of a future Mayor in Johnson County. 

Especially if you live in Merriam but even if you don't.... 

What should our city keep the same?

What should we change? 

What would you like me to focus on? 

And what is your favorite part of the beautiful city of Merriam Kansas? 

You can reply privately if you like or have a discussion on the list if it's EV related.  I don't want to fill anyone's inbox on this list with non EV related discussion.

If you have experience or connections with politicians who have helped increase the accessibility of EVs to the public I would love to speak to them and learn from them so please put me in touch. 

And regardless of what city you live in or who you plan to vote for make SURE that you get out there and vote on October 25th when early voting begins or November 4th if you like the big day.
