So, I found myself on Stoughton yesterday for the first since
returning home and noticed that Bob Barr's is gone (or, at the very
least, has been renamed).

What's the story?

Ya, Barr closed up shop last year.  Not sure why.  I wondered if Kawasaki wanted him to expand or remodel and he decided it wasn't worth it.  I was also surprised Steve didn't take it over.  I just noticed last weekend that there's another motorcycle shop in there now.  Can't remember the name and I don't know what they sell.  Barr's mechanic, Duane, is now working at Engelharts.

The story I heard was that Bob retired to take care of his wife who is ill.

Bob's wife passed away late last fall after a battle with cancer. Steve is now at Mad-City and Doug is at Engleharts. The current building is now called Showtime, I believe. It is a consignment shop where you take your stuff to be sold. They sell autos, bikes, atv's, sleds, etc... No one from Barrs is associated with it...
