Hi All,
This sounds like it would be up a lot of your alleys. I would be up for it if anyone else wants to go.
On Saturday, March 30th The Camera Company Photographers Group will meet at The Camera Company Westside store at 12:30 PM. After a short meeting we will depart the store at 12:45 PM for The Yahara Bay Distillery. We will arrive at the distillery at 1:00 PM.
The distillery is located at 3118 Kingsley Way.
The Yahara Bay Distillery makes whiskey, brandy, rum, and vodka as well as some other products essentialto the survival of mankind.
One of the distillery employees will give us brief history of distilling and of the process that they go through to produce their fine products. The distillery will offer a lot of macro opportunities so, you guessed it! I will be bringing some macro lenses for group members to try out. I will also bring a few flashes if some of you would like to try those. The still at this distillery is hand-hammered copper and has interesting texture for macro photos. There are numerous valves and gauges as well as many barrels filled with spirits that we can photograph.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we will be able to sample some of what they make and if you would like to purchase some of their products it will be available so you can do that. A bottle of brandy or the exclusive Chai Tea Vodka from this Madison company would make a great gift for an out-of-town friend or relative that would enjoy a real taste of Madison.
