Hi Everyone,

We have been having issues with a Tamron lens of ours, basically since we bought it.  It has been in for service twice and it is still not right.  I called them to see what we could do and they had a remarkably simple solution, take pictures of road signs at different focal lengths.  So we tried it, and it worked like a charm.

Here are the test shots.  It looks to me like focus is sharp from about 100mm or so to 270, but it is soft on the wider end.  This is from our 40D, but I imagine it would be the same on the 7D as well.

I thought this might be useful to the rest of you, and did not involve test patterns and all sorts of stuff.

Yeah, it looks soft on the wide end. So now what? Are they going to fix it?

Apparently.  We are hoping they just give up on it and give us the new model, but they will probably just fix it.
