On Saturday, June 22nd at 7:00pm The Camera Company Photographers Group will meet on Picnic Point to photograph the moonrise. I have consulted The Photographer's Ephemeris and it indicates that the moon will rise over the Capitol if viewed from this location.
The moon that night is being referred to as a "Super Moon," meaning that this will be the closest, and largest full moon of the year.
Gear recommendations:
A telephoto or super-zoom lens like the Tamron 18-270 would be ideal for this outing, but like I always say, "any lens is better than no lens."
A good tripod is a must, and because we will be shooting over water and will want to be certain that our cameras are level, I strongly recommend the use of a bubble level.
If you have a remote shutter release, remember to bring that.
A flashlight could come in handy.
Lastly, you might want to bring some OFF! to repel the mosquitoes just in case they show up uninvited.
We hope to see you there!
