MC Merch

Good Friday

As Betsy announced previously, Madrigal Chorale singers are invited to join Rochester St. Paul's UMC in their Good Friday performance on the Rutter Requiem with orchestra. The Requiem will be performed as part of a 7:30pm Tenebrae service, with readings interspersed between the movements. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7-8:30, but the crucial rehearsals will be March 25th, and April 1st. They will also rehearse on Saturday, March 29th from 10-12 (and anyone who wants to sing the Sanctus from the Requiem on Palm Sunday at the 11am service is welcome to join as well!). Google Classroom

Great news! 🎶 The Madrigal Chorale Google Classroom for Winter & Spring 2026 is officially up and running! Materials are organized by voice part and by concert (Pops and Spring Concert), and include sample videos and recordings, solo tracks, full choir tracks, and accompaniment tracks. We strongly encourage all chorale members to make this amazing resource part of your regular practice between rehearsals and to start digging into the music as soon as possible.

Madrigal Chorale Tour 2026

Madrigal Chorale has a long history of touring and is fresh off a tour along the Danube River in the summer of 2024. Sarah has worked with AMA Waterways to plan a trip in summer 2026 along the Rhone river in France. We still welcome more singers, friends, and family to join! For information see the linked Google Doc. As of last check (2/4/26) there are a few cabins left starting at the CB level.

For those going please be aware that final payments are due by April 10th (review your invoice to confirm). If making payments along the way please contact Danielle at AMA directly to work that out.

New Notes: (from our agent Danielle)

1) The deadline to upgrade airfare under the Air Plus promotion is February 28.  Of course, anyone who is considering an upgrade is more than welcome to reach out to me directly. I’m happy to speak with each traveler individually and walk them through their options.

 

Air Plus flights are assigned between 120–45 days prior to sailing. Because of that, we will not have airline, routing, or schedule details until that time. Once flights are assigned and ticketed, updated confirmations will be sent to all participating travelers, including their air locator numbers which they can use to monitor flights directly with the airline.

 

Final routing details will be confirmed once flights are assigned.

2) The deadline to sign up for or cancel an extension (i.e. land-package) will be at 90 days prior to the cruise which is also the final payment date: 4/10/2026.

Member News

As mentioned at rehearsal previously, we are sad to mention that Marilynn Leedom will be unable to sing with us for the rest of this semester due to a recent cancer diagnosis. She is in all of our prayers, and as we have more information to share we will pass it along. Marilynn has been a constant voice in Madrigal Chorale and on the board for many years and she is in all of our hearts. 

Last Tuesday, we had shared that she was in a rehab facility and welcoming visitors, but unfortunately as many will have seen on Facebook, as of Friday she is back in the hospital with some additional complications. In chatting with her daughter Shannon today she said that she gets pretty exhausted from visitors, but they have been reading all of her cards and Facebook messages that everyone posts!

In other member news: Congrats to our own Jan Boswell for being selected as an MSVMA Emeritus Director! Additional congrats to Brandon for being selected to conduct the 2026-2027 MSVMA HS SATB Honors Choir!
