Pops Concert
It's Concert Week! 

Tuesday March 10th: Dress Rehearsal
First United Methodist Church of Northville
Address: 777 Eight Mile W, Northville, MI
Key Information (direct from the church):
  • SPACE: Only the Sanctuary will be needed for the rehearsal. Choir members are welcome to keep their belongings in the pews. 
  • PARKING: Choir members are welcome to use both the upper and lower lot.
  • ONLY the Upper Sanctuary Doors will open at 6:30pm for choir members to enter. This is a change from last year, as our security rules have changed. These will be the only doors open, as I can see who is entering and exiting these doors from the Sanctuary. We will open the downstairs doors by the elevator for the performance, but not the rehearsal. 
  • Rehearsal begins at 7:00pm
  • Doors will lock at 7:30pm, giving a 30 minute grace time for late choristers.
  • Rehearsal ends at 9:30pm.

NOTE: Advance ticket sales close Friday at 9pm. Door prices are higher.
Music: In a black folder
Key Information (direct from the church): 
  • SPACE: Choir members will have the choir room for a green room and warm up space. 
  • SPACE: Children's choir will have the Chapel as a green room and warm up space
  • SPACE: Sanctuary for the performance
  • PARKING: I recommend that all choir members able to park in the lower parking lot to allow those with mobility issues to use the upper parking lot.
  • 5:30pm- Both Upper Sanctuary Doors and the doors by the elevator will open for choir members. Last year, the choir's call time was 6pm. With this in mind, I will be at the church and will have the doors open at 5:30pm.
  • 6:00pm-Choir Call Time & Rehearsal. Erik, our tech person, will be there to help with sound checks and to run the board and lights. 
  • 7:00pm - All choirs move out of the Sanctuary to allow our audience to find their seats.
  • 7:30pm- Concert begins

Pops Afterglow:  Join Us After the POPs Concert – A Special Evening at Rocky’s! 🎶✨

After what is sure to be a fantastic POPs Concert on Saturday, March 14th, we hope you’ll continue the celebration with us at a wonderful post-concert gathering organized by Annalee!

We’ll be heading to Rocky's of Northville

This special evening is open to chorale members and guests, and we would love to see everyone there! To ensure we can accommodate the entire group, please provide your total guest count no later than Tuesday, March 10th. Respond hereAS OF THIS EMAIL ONLY 7 SINGERS HAVE RESPONDED WITH RSVP.

Important Details:

  • Guests will be seated at tables of 8 - please be prepared to share tables as needed. 

  • Each table will be on one check.  Annalee will assign a person to be in charge of each table. 

  • PLEASE BRING CASH – all food, drinks, and tips must be paid in cash (no cards will be accepted)

  • Due to the size and timing of our group, we will enjoy a limited group menu

Dinner Entrée Selections:

  • Portobello Ravioli – $24

  • Chicken Piccata – $24

  • Grilled Atlantic Salmon – $30

  • Broiled Great Lakes Whitefish – $29

  • Filet Mignon – $43

All entrées include a house salad.

Dessert will be their special Chocolate Raspberry Cake – $2.25 per person 

If you prefer, you’re absolutely welcome to join us for drinks and dessert only!

We’re so grateful to Annalee for organizing what promises to be a lovely evening of food, fellowship, and celebration after we share our music. It’s the perfect way to toast a beautiful performance together.

Good Friday
As Betsy announced previously, Madrigal Chorale singers are invited to join Rochester St. Paul's UMC in their Good Friday performance on the Rutter Requiem with orchestra. The Requiem will be performed as part of a 7:30pm Tenebrae service, with readings interspersed between the movements. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7-8:30, but the crucial rehearsals will be March 25th, and April 1st. They will also rehearse on Saturday, March 29th from 10-12 (and anyone who wants to sing the Sanctus from the Requiem on Palm Sunday at the 11am service is welcome to join as well!). Open Rehearsals
January may be over, but we still will welcome new singers with open arms! Please contact Margee with anyone who might be interested and she can take it from there. We welcome singers of all voice parts!

Google Classroom

Great news! 🎶 The Madrigal Chorale Google Classroom for Winter & Spring 2026 is officially up and running! Materials are organized by voice part and by concert (Pops and Spring Concert), and include sample videos and recordings, solo tracks, full choir tracks, and accompaniment tracks. We strongly encourage all chorale members to make this amazing resource part of your regular practice between rehearsals and to start digging into the music as soon as possible.

Madrigal Chorale Tour 2026
Madrigal Chorale has a long history of touring and is fresh off a tour along the Danube River in the summer of 2024. Sarah has worked with AMA Waterways to plan a trip in summer 2026 along the Rhone river in France. We still welcome more singers, friends, and family to join! For information see the linked Google Doc. As of last check (2/4/26) there are a few cabins left starting at the CB level.

For those going please be aware that final payments are due by April 10th (review your invoice to confirm). If making payments along the way please contact Danielle at AMA directly to work that out.
