Ihave a linksys wireless router with no security (our nearest neighbor is 1 mile away) and am trying to connect a Netgear WiFi Range extender. All the directions to hook up say to press the WPS button on the router but there is no such button.
All lights on it are flashing apart from the power and wireless light. I have read of similar issues online but not ones describing the same set of lights flashing. I have tried connecting to the device over ethernet but failed. It's no longer accessible over wireless either.
Sounds like you may have a bricked router. You could try again to hold the reset for longer than 30 seconds, and make sure your computer that you have attached via Ethernet to port 1 of the linksys is set to automatically obtain IP via DHCP.
I had the same problem for about an hour late one night. I decided to go to bed and resume working on it the next morning. Everything was working perfectly the next morning. Waiting is undoubtedly not a general solution, but it worked once.
Hi,
I cannot dial **** because line is no longer lit. I believe the firmware is totally deleted now and I have written linksys. When i go through my router web interface, the pap2t is no longer shown. And when attempting to upgrade firmware, which I had done prior, the firmware window is entirely blank.
I have gone through many tribulations of resetting by unplugging ata, router, dsl box over and over again, but i can no longer get line1/line2 or a web interface, or a mac address or ip address generated by my router. Again, i believe this is because the firmware is no longer available on the ata.
I am experimenting with all of this and reading much, as well as learning much and i greatly appreciate all of the feedback from the forum. I plan to eventually add a DID but am not sure if I am off base with my plans here.
thanks again. I still only get a dial tone. I can not dial my other two sip softphones using this analog/ata phone nor can my other two sip soft phones dial it, they both say:
10...@voipme2u.com not found, athough it is now officially registered with my * server. I will continue to research but if you know of any reason, please let me know. The simple dial plan (although not so simple to me) i have is listed below:

I'm trying to help my grandma setup her linksys wrt54g version2 router by phone. I asked her to plug the router to the pc and modem. Now, assuming she plugs them all correctly, she cited that the lan card is not lighting in her system unit. And she cannot access 192.168.1.1 either. What bothers me is she said it lighted for a few seconds and then turned off. What could the problem be?
If you prefer not to call the linksys support, then what you can do is ask her to go to a page like
routerlogin.net(This one is for netgear products) so you can find a similar one for linksys by googling that up because there might be a case that the IP is not 192.168.1.1 it is something like 10.0.0.1, otherwise what you can do is go to run and type ncpa.cpl and then check the lan connections, if it shows connected then right click it and go to status and check the default gateway and then type that address into the web browser.
If in ncpa.cpl it does not show connected, and shows disconnected then the cable is not plugged in; otherwise if it shows disabled then right click it and enable it; but if it shows limited then also go to status and do the same.
