2012-13 RBOs: new TD/club sponsorship needed

2012-13: The Madison College Chess Club has no plans to continue the Madison Rated Beginner Opens
this year. Any club or tournament director interested in carrying on
the tradition of RBOs in Madison should contact George Alexander for advice/help on organization, scheduling, and
equipment.
I've been running these tournaments for over a decade, having started with just an interest to keep such RBO events alive while my own children were very involved in chess. Now with three college students who have less time for chess, I am taking more of my own time to pursue other professional interests in my field. I am willing to train in a new leader for the Madison RBOs. No experience is necessary, but there are some rules and regulations that need to be followed to run a rated event.
Thanks to everyone who has come to play, coach, teach, assist, and spectate over the years! It's been a fun time for me too. Hopefully I'll still see you all across the board sometime at some tournament.
