Sam Douglass, Farm & Land Management Specialist of the Groundswell Conservancy will talk about how they use cover crops in their annual plots to control weeds, break up the hardpan, and rejuvenate the soil. Sorghum-sudangrass and other cover crop plantings will be shown, and Sam will share about how to plant, tend, and terminate cover crops. Westport growers will also be available to talk about their experience using cover crops in their fields.
