The Dane County Tamara D. Grigsby Office for Equity and Inclusion, in partnership with the Dane County Food Council, is pleased to announce the annual Partners in Equity (PIE) Food Project Grants for Dane County organizations. The 2025 application period is open and the deadline to apply is Monday, February 24, 2025.

The PIE Food Project Grant program was created to encourage the development of projects that advance equity and access in local food systems across Dane County. In 2025, $40,000 is available for PIE Food Project Grants.
Individuals and organizations with smaller projects are especially encouraged to apply. The application includes two funding categories: one for funding requests up to $2,000, and the other for requests up to $4,000.

Priority will be given to projects serving Dane County communities outside the City of Madison and those that impact vulnerable, underrepresented, and/or underserved communities in Madison.

Proposals should address one or more of the following focus areas:

  • Increase access to healthy, local, culturally-relevant food
  • Strengthen regional agriculture and ease access to land for growing food
  • Decrease food waste and loss via recovery and redistribution of good quality rescued foods
  • Enhance community voice in local food system development

Visit the OEI website to access the application: https://equity.countyofdane.com/grants/PIE-food

If your project only serves communities within the City of Madison, we encourage you to apply for a City of Madison SEED Grant (due February 21, 2025). SEED applicants may also apply for a PIE grant. Funding can be received from both a SEED grant and a PIE grant, not to exceed the total project budget needed.
