SHS has proved itself in many ways in treating cardiac diseases, but
there is a further more need for exploring its uses in other cases
such as cerebral infarction... etc.

Hello Everybody,

I am sure that Dr Suhas is struggling hard to treat infarction. Good.
One thing needs to be clear. Infarction is not a disease, its a
situation due to a disease. In any infarction, once it is in, what we
can do is to reduce the complications.
What can be the complications of this Infarction is Failure, whether
its heart or Brain.
So SHS proves itself in failure.
This is my view,
I would like to know your view Dr Suhas as the thought has arised from
your mind, so go ahead and post your thought on the wall now. I m
waiting to see your views.
Thanks. Bye.

Cerebral infarction of the thrombotic type will benefit by anything that improves circulation, and that stands to reason. Haemorrhagic type will be a different kettle of fish. Perhaps the first thing is to identify and compile cases where TIA or more severe Cbrbl infarction was helped, with SHS. After that will come more focussed studies.

Perhaps SHS for patients recovering from stroke, esp those with thrombotic type will be logical approach to extending the therapeutic remit of SHS.

We don't come across such patients frequently but we do have patients with partial Paralysis, Parkinsonnism wherein the pathological cause is stroke, cerebral vascular impairement.. carotid, jugular stenosis ...Etc.   we should collect this  data..and compile accordingly..
