Patient has undergone CABG on 5th July 2010.

He has 100% block in infra renal aorta and for this, doctor has advised
him surgery after 3 months.
Can we do SHS or any thing else to avoid this surgery?

From Dr.Rohit Sane
Hello Doctors,

An Infra renal arortic blockage means a blockage in the aorta below
the renal artery origin.
If this blockage is blocking the blood supply, the patient should
complain of loss of sensation in the lower limbs, Pelvis and loss of
control of bowel and bladder habits.
The patient needs to have gangrene or atleast a begining of the same.
The best way to assess will be to check the femoral and the popliteal
pulsations of both the limbs, if they are present, no treatment needs
to be advised.
Regular exercises and SHS can reduce the disease from aggravating more.

Hello,
Collaterals develop by their own wherever there is obstruction.
If the collaterals have not developed, take this very strictly, that
the blood never got obstructed.
If the blood was not obstructed, why do you need to treat it?
Treatment should be done on the blocked blood to unblock it. Treatment
shopuld not be done on the blockage.
This is the most important principle. Understand it.
