Dear MWM friends & fans,
I started the holiday season early this year, making batches special holiday gingerbread starting in September. It has been quite a year, with the volcanic activity (lava fountains and river!) affecting our neighbors, including so many of our friends. Last month we moved from Pahoa to Hakalau, where we plan to ramp-up our efforts toward a sustainable lifestyle. Hakalau is a wonderful, tiny village on the Hamakua coast of Hawai'i Island that many visitors fall for. (Including us!) It hosts Akiko's Buddhist B&B, an annual mochi pounding festival to celebrate the new year, and a small, weekly farmers market. Other than that, it's a quiet community that values artists and farmers. We are delighted to be the newest residents!
New Items
I've added several new offerings to the MWM catalog this year.
anandamide earrings
These graceful swoops depict the neurotransmitter first found because it is one of our two main endogenous cannabinoid molecules. This system has many affects on the body, most notably contributing to states of euphoria that inspired the name: ananda is bliss (joy, delight) in Sanskrit. I also offer an anandamide necklace, molecule-wrapped-around-your-finger ring, and (see below) a holiday ornament.

resveratrol earrings
A customer requested an earring version of my popular resveratrol (red wine) necklace. After I made them, I knew they had to be a permanent offering. In silver with a genuine garnet drop, they are dressy, smart, fun, and perfect for any event. (Please note that I may not be able to get these to you by xmas, due to high interest and poor inventory planning, but I'll restock them ASAP.)

progesterone necklace
There are several doctors, my intro was Dr. Jolene Brighten, who have fully engaged in the mission to demystify women's health. I wish they were around 20 years ago! Mostly, despite having them, I have not paid much attention to cycling female hormones, and it's time to correct that. This progesterone necklace is a step in that direction. Progesterone is a critically important molecule for maintaining women's health. It balances the estrogen dominance that is so often caused by living our modern world. It rocks, and here's the necklace to prove it. ;)

Holiday Ornament
This year I made an anandamide holiday ornament, a symbol of bliss and joy in the holiday season. As well as playing a role in euphoria, anandamide helps us remember by helping us forget. It is crucial to our holiday experiences and memories. It's also lovely in pewter (made for me by ToadLand Casting in New Mexico). As with all my jewelry, it comes in a small box tied with a ribbon, making it a great gift for all your scientist friends' chemis-trees.

Solstice Cards
My favorite holiday is the winter solstice, and many years ago I made a card to commemorate our wonderful Sun, Earth, and Moon, all participating in a dance that makes the Earth inhabitable for life like us. They are back! Printed on 100% recycled paper by Greener Printers in Point Richmond, CA and hand cut and glitter-painted by me. Available in 5-packs.
