So as already tweeted (@MADdotNET) - the presentation meeting is this Wednesday ( tomorrow ) - Feb 1st.  :)

Have you ever been asked to quickly develop a "little website" for an internal business need?  Getting the business to realize that there is quite a bit that is behind the scenes to make that "little website" work and the time required to do so is generally more than they're willing to invest.  That or on the flip side has a non-programmer just "put together" an Access database that now has grown beyond it's original scope and is now "mission critical" and guess what? Surprise!! It's your responsibility! Wouldn't it be nice to do a quick conversion of that to be web based so you can stop maintaining the Access database. :)

Those and many more in my opinion are prime reasons for looking at Microsoft LightSwitch as a productivity tool for developers!

We're very fortunate to have Eric Selje let us know what he's learned so far so that we can make the most of this exciting new tool. <g>

Eric has been developing line-of-business applications for over 20 years, and has worked for the Federal Courts, private businesses, and as a self-employed consultant. His previous venture, Salty Dog Solutions LLC, has just received FTC approval for a mega-merger with Geeks and Gurus, Inc., and so Eric is now working with a small, geographically diverse team. They specialize in developing custom line-of-business applications for the desktop, web, and mobile devices.

Eric stays active playing ultimate and baseball, parenting his two children, and reading everything he can get his hands on.
