EERIE IN ERIE
Two weeks ago, I made the long, arduous trek to Pennsylvania for the
Eerie Horror Film Festival. Yes, that's Eerie with two E's. My short
film, "THE OTHER GODS," played to an enthusiastic crowd. I got to
meet important celebrity types like Adrienne Barbeau and Tom Savini.
Yes, a good time was had by all. I'll be writing more about it on the
Mad Dog Movies blog when I find the time.

DEADITES AND ZOMBIES AT THE DRYDEN
Someone at the George Eastman House must be reading my mind. They've
managed to program two of the best horror-comedy-splatstick movies
ever made onto one double bill. This Saturday night I plan to take the
back-to-back screenings of EVIL DEAD 2 and RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD.
These flicks are so insane, they need to be seen with an audience.
(There's a replay on Sunday, too.)

B-MOVIES IN SALT CITY
The B-Movie Film Fest in Syracuse begins Friday night, but I probably
won't make it out until Sunday. Ben Radford's "CLICKER CLATTER" will
be playing at the fest. As the animation supervisor on the short, I
plan to hob-nob with other filmmakers and introduce myself to Ben's
groupies.

SAW MARATHON
I don't think I have the fortitude for this one, but thought I'd pass
it on to anyone who may be interested. Lionsgate is presenting a
special SAW marathon in select theaters on October 25th beginning at
6PM. All three SAW films will be screened prior to the midnight
showing of SAW IV. There's no venues in Rochester, but there's one in
Syracuse and one near Buffalo. Check Fandango for more theaters near
you!

8 MORE FILMS TO DIE FOR
Looking ahead to November, After Dark Films is presenting Horrorfest
again this year. From November 9-18, 350 theaters around the United
States will play a slate of 8 movies "to die for." These are mostly
independent features that (hopefully) deserve more attention than your
average direct-to-video fare. I attended a couple screenings last
year at Rochester's Regal Culver Ridge and enjoyed both Gravedancers
and Reincarnation. This year, I'm looking forward to THE DEATHS OF
IAN STONE, NIGHTMARE MAN, and MULBERRY STREET.
