International Day of Mathematics. March 14.

Suggest a theme for the next IDM

Every year the International Day of Mathematics has a different theme:

  • 2020: Mathematics is Everywhere
  • 2021: Mathematics for a Better World
  • 2022: Mathematics Unites
  • 2023: Mathematics for Everyone
  • 2024: ???

Themes flavor the celebration, make it unique, spark creativity, and bring light to connections between mathematics and all sorts of fields, concepts, and human activities.

We are looking for the perfect theme to celebrate mathematics in 2024. We already received many ideas from all over the world, but we want to hear yours!

You can use our form to send your idea before May 31, 2023.

Submit your idea for the 2024 theme

Explore the 2023 Comic Challenge gallery

We created a gallery with some of your most inspiring and imaginative creations and an interactive map to explore and discover the more than 3200 comics we received from all over the world.

A person thinks about mathematics and explains to things via pictograms. The first thing is that the derivative of french fries over x is Pringles-type potato chips. The second thing is that integrating french fries over x equals a potato.
Extract from the comic submitted by Handika Syachreza from the Pusri Palembang High School in Palembang, Indonesia. See it in the gallery.

Ciao, ricomincia la giostra!
A me piacerebbe qualcosa che indichi che la matematica è permanente, stabile. Mathematic is permanent, stable, forever...
Ciao, Barbara
