Outdoor dancing 2nd August & new website!

Dear Dancer,
Isn’t this summer flying by?! Before it slips away, why not come to the Echoes and Visions day of creativity a week on Sunday (2nd August)? This is a chance to dance and play that you can shape to suit yourself.
It can be hard to carve out time for creative projects and often they end up being ‘kicked into the long grass’. Luckily, the long grass of Abundant Earth is exactly where we will be, so why not pick up your journal, some paints, or a camera and let yourself play?
No creative project? No problem! There are no expectations or judgements. The invitation is to get it right for you. You could use the time to work on that pile of mending you’ve been ignoring, browse through some magazines and reimagine your living room, or catch something of your summer in writing before it’s gone.
I will be bringing some basic art materials, pens, paper and poetry books and I can be on hand with ideas to get you started if needed. This might be drawing or writing exercises or embodied explorations and meditations for inviting inspiration. If you know what you want to do you can just get on with your own thing. Let me know if you need any special materials - with a day’s notice, can supplement this with things like coloured yarns, a sewing machine, a Dremmel drill. It’s been super sunny so there will be plenty of electricity if your project requires it.
The day will be book-ended by dancing and a circle with no pressure to show and tell, so if you choose to lie around all day reading poetry, that’s just perfect!

Yes! I finally have a website that brings together all the strands of what I do into a single place and provides information about me and my work. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I plan to start a blog with my musings about inspirations, insights, and transformations sparked by conscious dance, and at some point I plan to share some of my music on the site.

Summer Day
Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean —
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down —
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?

with your one wild and precious life?
