Solstice dances in Cumbria this weekend

‍Dancing News Friday, 19 June 2026 ‍ ‍  ‍Dear NewcastleDanceCollective, We're looking forward to a fabulous weekend of dancing - on Friday night and some of the weekend at Embleton, just west of Bassenthwaite, with a final dance encountering the landscape and energies of Castlerigg Stone Circle. Our visiting teacher Ambu Lencioni and musician Martino Biondi have arrived from Tuscany and are presently nestled in the depths of Borrowdale. We've been in friendly discussion with officers of the National Trust, who appreciate that our Sunday dance at the stone circle is very much in keeping with its spirit, and will be a complement to other solstice visitors. Thank you in advance to all who're contributing instruments for Martino; our new Silentsystem headsets are primed and ready.   We still have some danceing spaces for Friday night (tonight) and for the Weekend, if you've not already registered, so lets see you there!   See you soon, Robin & Helen June Wave - with Ambu Lencioni "Energy moves in Waves. Being in the body, receiving it delicately, welcoming its change of energy, relaxing in sensitive movement, enjoying the warmth of the sun on the skin. We will inhabit the space between the lyrical and the quiet, accompanied by moments of live music and fusion with the elements. We will let go of control over our own dance patterns to become the dance itself.
