Dear Dancers,
It's been a while since I've danced with you but I wanted to share that this Summer, Máiréad Kerr and myself are organising a Grief and Gratitude Ritual with renowned medicine teacher Kedar Brown from North Carolina.
The gathering is taking place between 16th and 19th July in a beautiful and remote farmstead in the Scottish borders.
The ritual is in the West African tradition of the lineage of Malidoma Somé
from Burkina Faso. Alongside the ritual itself we will be weaving
together The Way of Council, time spent on the land, death lodge,
journey work with ancestral lineage, singing and drumming and grieving
practice from celtic tradition.
Having
worked with Kedar several times in the past I know the depth of
integrity and skill he brings to this work. It really does feel like a
blessing to have him host a Village encampment and ritual like this
again on our shores.
The cost of the event is £420 and includes two meals per day and camping (limited number of concessionary places available on application)
With love,
James Gillespie
