I found the material to make a moisture wicking board (Homasote 440 Sound Barrier) out at the Madison Menard's (west town). $11.38 for a 2 by 4 foot piece in the handy size section. Go there if you wish to make your own.

Homasote is a paper pulp based sheet material. BildRite is a wood fiber based materialwith a vey very small amount of asphalt cement in it. It has some permeability, but it is relatively low and relies on vapor pressure differences between the inner and outer surface go water migration. It is different from Homasote in the way that moisture impacts it. We still cut/stock the 3/4" BildRite for wicking/insulating boards that are part of the Minnesota Light Pack system. The Mann Lake version is 1/2" Bildrite.

I am sure your product it excellent! My only issue is that I only need one piece currently and with shipping it becomes much too expensive. That is why I checked out the material they have at Menard's. I hope it will serve in a similar fashion as the Bildrite product, as it does seem similar in many of its properties. My mistake if it doesn't! I did not mean to hurt anybody's feelings, just account for what I found. Ideally I would like a board with the moisture absorbing properties of paper towels and coated with Goretex to let vapor into it, but it seems I will have to invent such a thing myself :)
