to madbees
We have been going through our beekeeping equipment storage and we are looking to make some room. We decided to sell off our new and used equipment to folks that are interested in producing small amounts of local queens that will benefit our WI beekeepers. We stopped using mini mating nucs years ago as the operation grew larger. Mini mating nucs are great when you have more queens to mate than frames of bees available. Here is a link that will give you an idea of how they are used:
Each lot must be sold as one unit, we will not be selling off individual items one at a time. We are including lot one and two with a free copy of "Queen Rearing Essentials by Larry Connor" in hopes that it will help you along the way. We will probably have more queen mating gear available for sale as we keep digging through our storage.
Lot 1: $50 Four foam mini mating nucs, brand new. There are two sizes in the lot. The lot comes with a free copy of "Queen Rearing Essentials by Larry Connor" to get you started.
Lot 2: $100 Nine wood double mini mating nucs, used. With these you can mate up to 18 queens at once. The units have foam insulation built into the lids. These are all the same size and frames are exchangeable between the units. Some frames are drawn already. These units can be fed using a nipple feeder mason jar. The lot comes with a free copy of "Queen Rearing Essentials by Larry Connor" to get you started.
Lot 3: $20 Coroplast five frame swam trap. Comes with frames.
