This is latest from Germany - 80% of the tested honey samples (by the DNA testing) are adulterated.

The US is no different.

Please disseminate this information around.
Our customers should know.

But very briefly:
- the fake honey producers became very good at replicating the sugar composition of the honey - by just sugar testing it becomes near impossible to tell the fake from real apart
- the real honey should have certain and expected DNA pollution level in it - DNA coming from pollen, plants, bees themselves where the pollen/plants specific to a locality of honey production
- the fake honey does not demonstrate (yet) expected DNA signature of the real honey - this is how they separated apart the fake honeys

We had a Madbees meeting with some researchers, some years ago, who were using a different analysis for this. Do we know who and where they are? They were looking for funding, so may have dropped out of the landscape.

Five or six years ago there was a researcher from the UW (i believe) that was asking for honey samples.  He came over and collected a couple from me right off a frame.
