There was a mass data breach w Google, and i recieved a message to just update my password. I've since gotten weird non deliverable emails from Google stating the 'email address could not be found', and it lists MY email prefix, but not @gmail.com, but to google.com. I'm not sure how affected Google groups were, but i imagine that's part of the issue. If there's any way to update those settings, or if anyone hasn't changed their password since last year that might be worth a try.

You better be careful about "your password update" prompted by Google.

That very message itself could be a password theft attempt - rather common.

IF you do want to change your password - do NOT follow the password reset message link IF it is provided - BAD idea.

Instead - go into your Gmail account control ***directly*** and change the password yourself (without the message "assistance").
