Danny has been extracting honey this week and we put the wet frames out to be cleaned up by any bees around. There has been NO ACTIVITY at the frames. NONE. I thought there might be some visitors but I’m shocked that there is NOTHING.

Hmm. I put a bunch of partial frames from our dead outs, from the day camp apiary,  out for other bees to take. I did wonder how long it would take, since I have no bees at that location, it's been a week and a half since.
I should go look.

I thought surely there were other hives near me.

A strong nectar flow is preferred over robbing honey for brood rearing.

Yeah, there’s a strong flow. It’s hard to get them to rob out frames during the peak summer. I set out all the honey frames from deadlifts but they probably won’t get rubbed out until late summer. Sometimes there is a dearth after the locust before the kindness, but I’m doubting it this year. Everything is very early. It seems everything is blooming. I’m already seeing yellow clover and the elderflower is almost done.

Flow is too good.
But also lots of bees got wiped out this winter. Likely more than we know about.
Scouting activity is low.
