YMMV: I was presented with an offer for $79 average /night that hotel
was within 5 mi of the Conference Center. A cab ride to the conference
and you would likely be under the $119 offered at the DoubleTree.

Just tried to use my own link to book a hotel and it didn't work.

There are details about The Portland Big Deal hotel program on the
front page. We just booked the Red Lion which is .1 mi away from the
conference for $89/night + tax, title, and license. (3 Star hotel if
that means anything to you). There was a La Quinta offering for $73/nt
which appeared to be about 6-8 blocks away from the convention center.
