For September’s #Mad_Gng, we are discussing Tamara Drewe by Posy Simmonds. The book tells the story of multiple individuals living in a quiet village whose lives are all altered by the arrival of Tamara Drewe, a girl who once lived in the village but has come back transformed by plastic surgery, a new wardrobe and improved self-confidence. What follows are many an exciting incident and many individual are rocked by their experience of the events.
The series was originally serialised in the Guardian weekend
magazine, one page at a time, in 2005 but has since been collected into a book format. It has also been translated into French, German and Swedish. Posy Simmonds has written multiple books including multiple children’s books and even film scripts.
As per usual, it would be appreciated if you bring a suggested donation of £2 for the Madlab, the wonderful community space at which our event takes place and maybe bring £5 if you are interested in getting food. I hope to see you all there:)

P.S. if any of you are on twitter, you can use the hashtag seen in the title to let everyone know about the group:)
